Whatever support needs you have we can help you to be active
Regular physical activity has both physical and mental health benefits for people of all ages. For people with a disability finding the time, space and support they need to be active can be a challenge. Physical activity can help to increase confidence and concentration, strengthen muscles and improve balance and co-ordination. Being active can also provide great opportunities to have fun, meet new people, enjoy time with family, friends and carers, build relationships and strengthen connections in the community.
The services and activities detailed below will help people with a disability or additional support needs to be active and improve their health, wellbeing, and quality of life
Everybody Active Programmes and Activities
We have a range of programmes and activities to help those with additional support needs to access the facilities, sports and activities available with Edinburgh Leisure.
Fit & Active
Fit and Active is a new project which supports adults with learning disabilities to get out, get active, make new friends and have ‘more good days’.
We provide opportunities, support and information to enable people with disabilities or additional support needs to get active.
Carer Access Card
Our Carer Access Card has been designed to enable carers to support the individuals they are caring for when they visit our facilities. The access card allows a carer to book into an activity alongside an Edinburgh Leisure customer at no additional cost to the carer.
Our Disability concessionary rates are designed to provide support to enable people with disabilities or additional support needs to get active.
