We were all born to move and there is a lot going on at Edinburgh Leisure to help you do just that. Why not try low intensity fitness classes, swimming, dance, walking, cycling and even gardening.

Get Started here!
The opportunities below are ideal for those who feel it has been a long time since they were last active and are looking for a gentle start to help improve their health. We provide you with a chance to build physical confidence and offer you support to be more active to improve your well being, in a fun and sociable environment.
Our Active Health Programmes
Physical activity has sometimes been described as a magic pill - not only does it help us feel better and function better, it can prevent and treat the leading health challenges of our time such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, cancers and mental health. Evidence suggests that we need expert guidance when faced with the idea of exercising after the diagnosis of a particular condition - even when we know that exercise will help.
We offer community-based physical activity programmes in partnership with NHS Lothian designed to improve health and wellbeing.
Movement for Memories
Movement for Memories is designed to support people living with early, early on-set and mild to moderate dementia to be active. With various activities, including swimming, the gym, golf, tennis and fitness classes there is something for everyone.
This work is supported with funding from the Life Changes Trust. The Trust is funded by the Big Lottery.
