Meadowbank has been at the heart of the local community for more than 50 years and its commitment to sport, physical activity, health and wellbeing of the city has never changed.
Host to two Commonwealth Games in 1970 and 1986 – the first venue to host the Games twice – Meadowbank is steeped in Scottish sporting history.
The new Meadowbank Sports Centre re-opened in 2022 with a full suite of breathtaking facilities including multi-purpose gym, 2 Fitness Studios, 3 Games Halls, Squash Courts, 3G sport pitches and indoor and outdoor athletics tracks. The venue is also home to meeting rooms, the Edinburgh Leisure corporate offices and CafĂ© Refresh for hot and cold food, drinks, snacks and treats.Â

Facilities
Meadowbank has the facilities to support physical activity, sport, health and well-being in Edinburgh for generations to come, while also recognising the legacy and heritage of the old Meadowbank and over 50 years of sporting history at the venue.
The new Meadowbank has so much to offer the local community. As well as providing everything shown below, the new Meadowbank also includes a martial arts combat studio and boxing gym for use by private clubs, a wide range of coaching courses, a café, meeting rooms and offices.

Edinburgh Leisure offers an extensive coaching programme at Meadowbank across a variety of different sports including Athletics, Gymnastics and Multi Sports. Children can learn and develop in their chosen sport, with trusted and expert coaches to support them every step of the way.
