Come & Try Athletics

Are your kids eager to explore different sports before committing to our coaching programme in August? Now's the perfect opportunity! 

For just £3.00 per session, your children can experience a fun Athletics coaching session and get a taste of the fun without any long-term commitment.

Come & Try Athletics sessions are running at Meadowbank on 1st and 8th August.

We offer options for both under-5s and P1+:

All of the Come & Try sessions are also part of our exciting city-wide GO FOR GOLD Summer Mini-Games. Pick up a GO FOR GOLD Game Card at any of our venues and start collecting activity stickers!

Sports Classes at Meadowbank

Athletics

Our programme offers children from P1-P7 a wide variety of athletics events and techniques, and focuses on the FUNdamental movement skills, important in every child’s development. Tailored to suit children of all skill levels from beginners to competitors.

Basketball

From shooting to dribbling, lay ups to free throws: there’s plenty of fun to be had on the court. This fast-paced game is a great way to hone skill and accuracy. 

Our new pathway currently on offer at Meadowbank Sports Centre and Ainslie Park Leisure Centre caters from 18 months to 9 years.

Jump into Sport

Multi-Sport early years activities are the perfect introduction to sport and exercise. Try out a wide range of sports including athletics, tennis, football, gymnastics and more in a fun and social environment.

Booking into our coaching classes

You are now able to use our Coaching HomePortal to book and pay online for classes.  The Coaching HomePortal also allows you to book into additional classes, add siblings to your account and book them into a suitable class.

  • Current customers without an activated Coaching HomePortal account - please activate your account first. Click here for a guide to help you activate your account.

  • Current customers with an activated Coaching HomePortal account - Click here to go to the Coaching HomePortal.  When booking your class please ensure you enter your email and password under the Returning Customers section.

  • New customers - Click here to go to the Coaching Homeportal.  Once you have selected your class, select the option to Register as a new customer.

Football Coaching at Meadowbank Sports Centre

From 1st October 2023, Leith Athletic FC will be in charge of delivering the full football coaching programme at Meadowbank Sports Centre in association with Edinburgh Leisure.
