Where can I work?
You can coach almost anywhere in Edinburgh as our programme runs in venues all over the city including the brand-new Meadowbank Sports Centre.
And you can use our gyms, pools and other fantastic facilities at a discounted rate in your spare time.
Where you could work depends on your availability, desired hours and sport. We take your venue preferences into consideration and where possible try to match you with a preferred venue.

Getting into coaching
If you are interested in getting into coaching but aren’t yet qualified we could support you in gaining your qualifications.
As part of our development opportunities we will help you in getting qualified, such as gaining a UKCC General 1 qualification, before offering you a role in our valued coaching team.

Frequently asked questions
I'm interested in becoming a coach but don't have any qualifications yet?
We have specific recruitment events for unqualified coaches but if you would like to speak to someone about this please pop along to any of our coaching recruitment events and we will be happy to speak with you. Please also see above for our Getting into Coaching information.
How long will my assessment/appointment last?
You appointment at our recruitment events will usually last no longer than 1 hour
What will the assessment consist of?
You will take part in a meet and greet, having a chat to one of the assessors. You will then have a walk around the coaching area to get a feel for what it is like being a coach at Edinburgh leisure.
Will I need to deliver a coaching session as part of the assessment?
No, our coaching appointments at recruitment days focus on a behaviours and competency assessment.
Do I need to bring anything?
In most cases you do not need to bring anything. However it would be useful to bring along any proof of a qualification to our recruitment events.
What is the dress code?
We would recommend wearing something smart casual.
What roles are available?
At our recruitment events the positions we have available will be discussed with you at your appointment and we will ascertain your availability at this time
