Kids activities

Looking for something different to keep the kids active and occupied? Then let us help and bring a little bit of Edinburgh Leisure into your home.

We’ve put together a series of activities to keep some of those coaching skills going until we can restart our classes again. Take a look at what’s on offer below.

Bring the fun of swim coaching into your home with these interactive activity PDFs from Scottish Swimming! These are perfect for little swimmers aged either 4 to 7 or 8 and above.

Complete with crosswords, colouring-in and quizzes, amongst other activities, the activities will help make sure your children never stray too far from the pool and are ready to jump in when our coaching programmes restart.

To find out more, simply click on a button of your choice below.

Our pools may be temporarily closed, but you can still keep them close to your heart with our printable swimming bingo game! All you need is a hat to mix up the cards in and one designated Bingo Caller to help run the game for the other participants.

On your marks, get set, BINGO!

Young children can quickly become uncomfortbale having water on their faces and can even lose confidence after being out of the pool for a while. With these simply, easy-to-follow activities, you can keep their confidence high so they can enjoy being in the water again when pools reopen.

We're also pleased to be bringing you a swimming crossword, so you and the family can stay connected to the pool from home. Choose from well-known swimming terms and try and guess all the words in a fun-filled puzzle.

Missing our gymnastics classes? We've got you covered with these easy-to-follow conditioning exercises. Suitable for both adults and children, jump into this session with Edinburgh Leisure's own gymnastics coach Lauren.

We've put together a PDF of exercises which can be done from home which work on skills and muscle groups crucial to gymnastics. Whether you're looking for an easy way to keep the kids active or want to prepare them for the next coaching term, we've got you covered with our in-depth guide. All exercises provide instructions and demonstrations on how to perform correctly.

We’ve taken this much-loved board game and given it an Edinburgh Leisure twist! All you need is a dice and a space to move around and complete exercises such as jogging on the spot, high knees, planks and star jumps. To make it more interesting, we’ve added ladder challenges. You can do these with no equipment, but you can also use badminton racquets, footballs, shuttlecocks and tennis balls if you have them.
