The AquaDash is our exciting new inflatable attraction for everyone aged 6 yrs+ at the Royal Commonwealth Pool. Even if you`ve visited us before, you may have some questions and we`ve done our best to answer these here.
What is AquaDash?
Inspired by “LEGO” the AquaDash is our new interlocking playground on water. The AquaDash reaches a new dimension of playing on the water that allows endless excitement and never-ending fun. Explore the new course – beat the obstacles – race your friends and family.
What is the price?
A single session is £8.50 for an adult and £6.00 for a junior. This allows access to the pools before or after your Aquadash session. If you are visiting the pool before you participate in Aquadash, please make sure you check in at reception first.
I have children of different ages, can they play together?
Yes, it is one of the few activities that groups, and families can do together at the same time. The adult to child ratio for the use of the AquaDash is as follows:
- 6 to 8-year-old – 1 adult to 2 children.
- 9+ years are able to use the AquaDash without an adult or guardian.
It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to ensure that their children are old enough to participate.
Can anyone do it?
It doesn’t matter how small, daring or inexperienced you might be, the Aquadash will appeal to all fitness levels and swimming abilities.
AquaDash is not recommended for participants that: are pregnant, have neck or back problems, heart problems or have had recent surgery. You should consider your physical condition and limitations - and those of any children you are responsible for - before deciding to participate.
What if a member of my party has special needs/concerns?
Please tell us and we’ll do our best to ensure that they get the most out of the experience with no hassle or fuss. We can accommodate most customers with disabilities so please let us know of any mobility restrictions or additional needs.
Can I wear swimming goggles?
Yes, you can.
How long is a session?
The entire session will be 50 minutes, this includes a short safety briefing, life jacket fitting and approximately 45 minutes on the AquaDash.
Do I have to be able to swim?
All swimming abilities are welcome regardless of experience. General water confidence is not an essential requirement; however, it may make the experience more enjoyable. All customers will wear a buoyancy aid.
Do I have to stay with my child during the session?
For children up to and including the age of 8 an adult will have to accompany them on the AquaDash. The ratio of an adult accompanying children is 1 adult to every 2 children.
Can I leave before the hour is up?
Yes, you can leave before the session us up. If you wish to return to the AquaDash, you can show the band issued to you at the beginning of the session to gain re-entry.
What happens if I’m late for my session?
Unfortunately, if you are late arriving and miss the safety briefing then you will not be able to take part in that session.
Can I go on AquaDash for longer than an hour?
Yes, you can, however you will need to make two separate bookings back to back. On arrival, you will be issued two bands as proof of your two bookings and can remain on the AquaDash throughout the two sessions.
(Please note this activity is quite tiring and one session is normally enough for the average person.)
Will my children get bored?
AquaDash is great fun for everyone and the perfect family activity. In addition to the recommended course route, children can set their own challenges and race against friends.
What time should I arrive?
We advise to arrive on site at least 15 minutes before your session and it is essential to check-in at the Royal Commonwealth Pool reception. This gives you time to check in, get changed, receive your buoyancy aid and be ready for the safety brief.
Please be aware our car park can get extremely busy, especially at weekends – so please ensure you leave in plenty of time to ensure you find a space.
How busy will it be?
The maximum number of participants per session is 45 so numbers will range from 0 – 45 at any given time.
What should I wear?
You should wear appropriate swimwear that is normally required for a general swimming session. As you will be required to wear a buoyancy aid, you may choose to wear a t-shirt and shorts if this feels more comfortable. All jewellery should be removed/covered before the start of the session for safety reasons.
Are you allowed to take/use a camera or filming equipment?
The use of video or photography is prohibited on the AquaDash and by spectators in the pool area.
