Ageing Well Walks

Please DO NOT attend the activity if you should be self-isolating, have been overseas to a country requiring quarantine in the past 14 days, or are displaying symptoms that could be signs of the Coronavirus (according to the Scottish Government’s most recent guidance). 

 

As always, please ensure you wear suitable footwear and outdoor clothing to complete your walk.

If you have not attended an Ageing Well walk previously, please contact us to book your slot. A contribution of £1 towards the activity is welcomed.

Victoria Park

Time: 11.00am

Duration: 60 - 75mins

Grade: 2 & 3 (walk splits into two groups, a moderate paced walk and a gentler paced)

The meeting point is located at the benches close to the Edward VII statue.

To help you get the most benefit from your walk, we recommend that you aim to feel a little warmer, breathe a little harder and increase your heart rate, but you should still be able to talk.

Grade 1 Grade 2Grade 3

Suitable for people who have not walked much before, are looking to be more active, or are returning from injury or illness.

They are up to 30 minutes on flat ground or gentle slopes with mainly firm surfaces and generally no steps.

Suitable for people who are looking to increase their activity levels. 

They are between 30 - 60 minutes and may include some moderate slopes, steps, and uneven surfaces.

Suitable for people looking for more challenging walks and increasing their level of physical activity. 

Generally, 60 - 75 minutes in length and terrain could include earth and stone surfaces and may incorporate steeper slopes, steps, and uneven surfaces.
