The Meadows is Tennis Scotland’s Park of the Year for 2024.
The Meadows has 16 outdoor painted tarmac courts to play on in the heart of the city – open 7 days a week. We’ve recently invested in having all 16 of our courts repainted and resurfaced, ready for you to book your court today!
You don’t need to be a member of any club – anyone can enjoy one of the best tennis experiences in Edinburgh.
We’re also proud to offer tennis coaching programmes at the Meadows as well as Craiglockhart Tennis Centre.
Meadows Tennis Bookings – Clubspark Book & Play App (Not the Booker App)
As part of our refurbishment, we’ve introduced a new coded entry gate along with an updated booking system, ClubSpark Book & Play. With ClubSpark, you’ll be able to book, pay for, cancel, and amend your court reservations quickly and easily.
To make a booking using the Clubspark Book and Play app – complete the following steps:
- Create a Clubspark account online here (accounts cannot be created via the app)
- Download the Clubspark “Book & Pay” app via Apple app store/Google play store – do not use the Booker app
- Log in to your ClubSpark account to access the booking page.
- Select your venue (Edinburgh Leisure)
- Choose your preferred playing time and then click Book Now to confirm your booking.
- Complete your booking and make payment.
- Make a note of your PIN (this will also be emailed to you).
- Access the court using your PIN and enjoy your game.

Prices
Meadows Tennis courts must be pre-booked using our new automated booking system – Clubspark . Courts are bookable per hour with price details listed below.
Equipment Hire
If you are planning to visit the Meadows Tennis, we recommend bringing along your own rackets and balls when possible. If you do need equipment, this can be borrowed free of charge from the tennis pavilion when you have a court booking.
Equipment hire is only available from April to September, at the following times:

Meadows Tennis courts are bookable via the clubspark booking system at the link above or via the Clubspark Booker app which details court availability.
The venue is open from 6am to 10pm 7 days a week, with the last bookable slot of the day 9pm-10pm.

New to Tennis Adult Coaching Course
Our four week New to Tennis Course will equip you with all the skills you need to begin your tennis journey.
For adults with no playing experience. Learn strokes, movement and the basics of court play during a 4 week course bookable online.
This adult’s course led by our qualified LTA coaches will help you start your tennis journey.
Tennis Coaching
Edinburgh Leisure runs a junior tennis coaching programme with classes at the Meadows and at our Craiglockhart Tennis Centre. Our structured pathway allows children to develop their skills in groups with players of similar age and ability and progress from beginner stage to regional and national standard. Meadows Tennis is located in the famous Meadows area of Edinburgh, close to the city centre.
There is limited parking nearby, but the Meadows are well-served by public transport with Lothian Buses routes 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, 12, 29, 30, 33, 49 stopping nearby. For cyclists, there is also a small bike rack by the entrance to the courts.
