What’s Happening?

Due to an exciting fitness expansion at the Royal Commonwealth Pool, by the end of the year we will have a larger gym, a dedicated wellness studio for Mind & Body classes, a new dedicated Cycle Studio and we will have also upgraded Studio 3 into a brand new Fitness Studio. Work on this project will begin in August 2026.

Why Now?

The investment is being made to improve the customer experience and meet growing demand for fitness services by increasing gym capacity, adding new facilities, and upgrading Studio 3 to create more space for fitness classes.

Is The Royal Commonwealth Pool Closed?

No. The Royal Commonwealth Pool will remain open during the project. However, parts of the gym and some fitness studio spaces will be temporarily unavailable while various stages of the project are carried out. Alternative arrangements, including access to other Edinburgh Leisure venues where required, will be available.
