Parking Changes at Edinburgh Leisure

We’re making changes to the way parking works at EICA, Meadowbank Sports Centre and the Royal Commonwealth Pool to help maximise the available parking spaces for our customers. These changes are designed to prioritise access for those using the venues and to reduce misuse of our car parks.

Automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras are now in use at these venues to ensure our car parks are being used by legitimate customers like yourself. You must now simply enter your vehicle’s number plate on the tablets around the venue when you arrive on each visit and top-up via the kiosks in the car park if you expect to exceed the venue’s stated permitted parking time. This simple step helps us manage parking spaces and ensure they’re available for genuine visitors.

These changes will be effective from the following dates:

  • EICA: 23rd April 2025
  • Meadowbank Sports Centre: 4th July 2025
  • Royal Commonwealth Pool: 12th August 2025

When visiting EICA, you’ll continue to receive free parking for the duration of your visit. Meadowbank Sports Centre and Royal Commonwealth Pool customers will continue to receive up to three hours free parking.

Tablets are available to register your number plate at EICA by the reception, soft play and climbing arena. Tablets can be found at Meadowbank and the Royal Commonwealth Pool by the reception.

If you enter our car park / pick up and drop off with no waiting time you will not need to enter the building to leave your number plate, however if you have any wait time at all you will be required to enter the building and enter your number plate to ensure you receive no parking charges.

If you forget to validate your free parking before your activity, please make sure to speak to a member of staff who will help.

If you are using the car park without visiting the venue or exceed your permitted free parking period, there will be an initial charge of £10 for up to two hours parking, increasing by £5 increments per additional hour. Payment can be made via the cashless pay terminal in the car park or through the Evology Parking app (iOS | Android). Anyone who does not register or pay as required will receive a parking charge notice of £100 (reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days).

Thank you for your understanding and support as we make these changes to improve access for all customers and encourage responsible use of our car parks. Our helpful teams will be on hand to support with any questions during your visit, for any further queries or appeals please refer to the Parkingeye website.

Any appeal must be registered with Parkingeye online or via the email address listed on your parking notice. When making an appeal it may be helpful to attach details of your Edinburgh Leisure membership or proof of payment from your visit.
