Meadowbank Sports Centre has been at the heart of sport and physical activity for almost 50 years and we're sad to close the doors on this part of Edinburgh's history. However we're looking forward to the creation of a new Meadowbank. The new state of the art Meadowbank will be located on the same site and is due to open in 2020. It will support physical activity, sport, health and wellbeing in Edinburgh for generations to come. It will include the following:
- An outdoor athletics track with a 500 seat stand and outdoor throwing and jumps area
- An indoor athletics track and jumps space
- Two multi-sport games halls
- Three fitness studios
- A gym
- A gymnastics hall
- Two squash courts
- A combat studio for martial arts
- A boxing gym
- Two 3G (synthetic) pitches
- There will also be a cafe and meeting rooms

For our fitness class lovers, we have relocated as many of our fitness classes as possible to the venues that are closest to Meadowbank. These venues include Leith Victoria, Jack Kane Sports Centre, Portobello Swim Centre and The Royal Commonwealth Pool.
