Making waves in Edinburgh: Summer Adult Learn to Swim short courses at Leith Victoria Swim Centre

The iconic and historic Leith Victoria Swim Centre is inviting adults to build confidence in the water this summer with Adult Learn to Swim short courses running from 29 June to 3 August.

Ideal for anyone new to swimming, returning after time away or looking to improve technique, the short-course format offers focused learning in a safe and supportive setting. Each £46 block includes one-hour sessions delivered over one supercharged week, helping participants make quick, focused progress.

Marie Kneeshaw, Aquatics Development Officer at Edinburgh Leisure, said: “As we support RLSS UK Drowning Prevention Week this June, we want to remind people that feeling confident in the water starts with strong swimming skills. Learning to swim is a vital life skill that can help people stay safer and enjoy the water with greater confidence.”

This message is especially timely, as recent hot weather has brought renewed warnings around water safety following several recent reports of accidental water deaths. With more people drawn to the water in warm conditions, confidence in the water is more important than ever.

Backed by more than 20 years of swim teaching experience, Edinburgh Leisure’s swim programme is led by fully accredited teachers and follows the Scottish Swimming Learn to Swim Framework. With lessons running across venues throughout the city and 750 additional lesson spaces recently created, it offers adults a trusted, high-quality way to build confidence and develop essential water skills.
