Important Update: Portobello Swim Centre
We would like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding during the recent closure of Portobello Swim Centre.
The building was temporarily closed after a gas leak was identified. As a precaution, the gas supply was isolated to ensure the safety of our customers and staff. Unfortunately, this meant the facility was unable to operate safely due to the loss of heating and hot water.
Resolving the issue required specialist replacement parts to be manufactured and installed, which resulted in a longer closure period than anticipated. We are pleased to confirm that these works have now been completed and the issue has been fully resolved.
We are delighted to announce that the gym will reopen to customers from 9:00am on Friday 11 September.
We know how important these facilities are to our members and look forward to welcoming customers back.
On Monday 14 September our fitness class programme, wet coaching programme, and customer access to both swimming pools will recommence. We are delighted to welcome customers back to enjoy the full range of services available at the centre.
We will continue to monitor the pools closely and, while we do not anticipate any significant disruption, there may be occasional short-term closures should further maintenance be required.
Unfortunately, the Turkish Baths will remain closed while we investigate the full scope of repairs required. Due to the nature of the issues identified, we anticipate that the facility may remain out of service for several months. We are committed to progressing these investigations and any necessary repair works as quickly as possible and will keep members informed of any updates.

The team at Portobello Swim Centre remains committed to restoring services as quickly and safely as possible and looks forward to welcoming you back and seeing you again soon.
