FAQ's - High School Sports Facilities - Community Access - Council's decision to reverse proposed extra £35 charge

Edinburgh Leisure has produced some FAQ's regarding the Council's proposal to delay implementation of an extra £35 per hour for clubs and organisations hiring out facilities at the Council's 11 PPP High Schools outside of core hours. It should be noted that it is the City of Edinburgh Council who originally proposed these charges and not Edinburgh Leisure. We hope they will help negate many of the untruths that have been circulating on social media and among sports clubs.

Edinburgh Leisure’s iconic Victorian Dalry Swim Centre will be closing for a major refurbishment on Friday, 13 July, with a planned reopening in early December 2018.

A gym refurbishment will be taking place from Wednesday 4th- Friday 13th July. Replacement equipment, new powermills, new log press, new lifting equipment plus much more will take place during this closure.

To allow for essential pool floor maintenance, there will be some pool closures and restrictions in place from Monday 2nd July - Friday 6th July.

An Edinburgh project, Ageing Well, promoting healthy lifestyles for older adults in Edinburgh who are inactive, has been awarded a prestigious Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS), the ‘MBE’ for volunteer groups.
