What is NRG Zone?

NRG Zone is our gym accreditation programme for young people from S1 up to 15 years old.

Our hour long sessions are led by an expert instructor who will teach you everything you need to know in order to safely and effectively work out in the gym. You’ll be shown how to use all the equipment and be taught proper form to perform exercises.

NRG Zone focuses on cardio, weights machines and bodyweight functional exercises.

Once your instructor is confident that you’re ready, you will go through the accreditation test process, and, if successful, you will be able to attend the gym out with NRG Zone sessions as long as there is a Gym Instructor present. You must complete a minimum of eight NRG Zone sessions to be eligible for accreditation.

During school holidays, additional NRG Zone sessions will be available at most venues, please check the App or Timetable for details

Upon completion of our NRG Zone accreditation you can progress to our Under 16s Free Weights scheme if you wish to use the free weight areas in the gym.

NRG Zone is included in our Junior Fitness membership, With this membership, you’ll also have access to swimming, climbing and golf (conditions apply).

Under 16s Free Weights

With NRG Zone accreditation, you can use cardio and weights machines without supervision. If you want to branch out into the free weights area, you’ll need to complete our U16s Free Weights accreditation too.

Lifting free weights can be dangerous without proper form or understanding, particularly when your body is still growing and developing. Our expert instructors will show you the correct techniques and principles and write you a programme to work towards your personal goals in a safe and confident manner.

You must attend a minimum of eight U16s Free Weights sessions to get accredited and you’ll only be accredited when the instructor is sure you’re ready.

You must pass your basic NRG Zone accreditation before you can attend U16s Free Weights sessions.
