Edinburgh's golfing community has long known of the golfing gem that is the Braid Hills. But has the course been a well kept secret outwith the Lothians? The answer is probably yes - until now!
That may well start to change thanks to the November Issue of Men's Health Magazine. Taking pride of place in a 'Britain's Best Places' feature, our own Braid Hills won the category of "Britain's Best Public Golf Course". Here's what they had to say:
"Set high above Scotland's capital city, this municipal course puts most private ones to shame with it's jaw dropping views, endless fairways, taxing rough and immaculate well kept greens. At 5865 yards it's a challenge, but one you'll defintely want to master. And at just £16 a round, it's no wonder the locals have tried to keep it a well-guarded secret for over a century. Particularly pleasing are th 5th, 10th and 14th holes."
If that's got you in the mood for a few holes, call 0131 447 6666 to book a tee time.
