About Us
Health and Community Projects

Here at Edinburgh Leisure we do a whole lot more than you might think.

As well as running our 32 venues across the city we also have a dedicated sports and services development team, or SSD as we like to call it, who do loads of excellent work - day in, day out - to get more and more people involved in physical activity……because we want EVERYONE to reap the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and feel good.

It’s definitely not money or profit that motivates us to get up in the morning. It’s people that are our number one priority, and, as a non-profit organisation, we know that any money we make is reinvested into sport and physical activity so we can continue to deliver opportunities and services for the greater social good.

Our SSD team work to create such opportunities, for people of all backgrounds, ages, abilities and disabilities – so they can get involved in physical activity in order to become healthier, and therefore happier. Such opportunities are created via a number of different approaches……through setting up projects, organising outreach events, and partnership working (to name but a few).

So it would be true to say that Edinburgh Leisure has more to it than meets the eye. Our development, health and community work is something we’ve kept quiet about for too long, and now we’ve decided to come clean and shout about the amazing work we’re doing.
