We are Edinburgh Leisure, the biggest and best sport & leisure provider in Edinburgh and, for those of you who don’t know us, we’d like to take this opportunity to tell you a little more about what we do…

What are we?
Since the city council established us as a not-for-profit company in 1998 to run their sport and leisure services, we’ve been working our little cotton socks off to create as many opportunities as we possibly can for the people of Edinburgh to enjoy a healthier, happier and more active lifestyle. We're now a leading leisure trust with a turnover of £23 million and growing, 750 employees and over 4.1 million customers a year.

As a not-for-profit company, any surplus we make is reinvested wisely into improving our services and into keeping our gyms, pools, halls, courts and everything else for that matter up to the tip-top standards our customers have come to expect. Where are we?
You have probably heard of Meadowbank Sports Centre or the Royal Commonwealth Pool; Port Edgar Marina or the Braid Hills Golf Course – they are all operated by us. We run a whole range of facilities, including: sports and leisure centres, swim centres, golf courses, tennis courts, bowling greens, outdoor football pitches and, now, the Edinburgh International Climbing Arena, Ratho. And that isn’t all! No sir. We also offer programmes of activities for people of all ages and abilities. Just look at that menu to the left, it's brimming with sports, coaching and fitness opportunities.

Open to all
What’s more you don’t need to be a member to use our facilities – everyone’s welcome!  Except for a few activities where restrictions apply, anybody can turn up and ‘pay and play’ any activity at any venue. However, we do have a number of monthly memberships that offer unrivalled variety and value for money; giving you and your family the ideal springboard to a fitter, healthier and more enjoyable lifestyle.
