Keelboat One Day Taster
Keelboat Taster courses are just that, a little taste of keelboat sailing. You’ll get a fun, hands on, introduction to keelboat sailing and by the end you’ll be part of the crew! And if you book your next course on the day, you’ll receive 10% off!
RYA Keelboat Start Sailing (Level 1)
This course is a gentle introduction to keelboat sailing, where you will learn how to rig a keelboat and the basics to get afloat for the first time. At the end, you’ll be able to sail in light winds under supervision.
RYA Keelboat Basic Skills (Level 2)
Learning to sail in keelboats is hugely enjoyable and has become an increasingly popular sport. We will take you through all the basic skills to become a competent sailor (in moderate conditions). Please note; if you choose to complete the course over a weekend, you must have already completed the Keelboat Level 1 course.
RYA Keeboat Better Sailing (Level 3)
This course is designed to bridge the gap between Basic Skills and the Advanced Modules, giving you the opportunity to practice techniques introduced at earlier levels and for competent dinghy sailors who want a change of direction. With a flexible syllabus this course is the perfect opportunity to shape the time around exactly what you want to develop on.
Dinghy sailing to keelboat conversion Already hold a Dinghy Level 2 certificate or have equivalent experience? You could be eligible to enter the Keelboat scheme at the Better Sailing Stage. For further information, please give us a call and someone will be happy to help.

Advanced Keelboat Courses

RYA Keelboat Seamanship Skills
An excellent course, refining all those techniques learnt on the basic skills and better sailing course. You’ll learn all about boat control, solving problems afloat and becoming a more confident and accomplished sailor.
RYA Keelboat Day Sailing
Explore the Firth of Forth with our Day Sailing course. With picturesque harbours and sandy beaches, it’s a great location to spend time learning basic navigation and the planning skills needed to enjoy a day trip.
RYA Keelboat Start Racing
Racing is one of the best ways to develop your sailing skills and get involved with your local club. The course will teach you all you need to know to increase your boat speed and feel confident of the rules and start line tactics. Go on; satisfy your thirst for some competition!
RYA Keelboat Sailing with Spinnakers
One of the most rewarding of all the RYA courses, we’ll help develop your knowledge and crew work. Before you know it you’ll be blasting along, and gybing with the spinnaker up.

Keelboat Cruising Week
Combine the RYA Seamanship and Day Sailing keelboat modules (on page 16), and not only will you develop your boat handling skills, you’ll also learn navigation techniques needed to safely cruise a keelboat on a coastal day trip.

Keelboat Race Club
Join our coaches every Thursday evening, and experience the thrill of racing our 707s in a friendly environment. Over the weeks you’ll gain the opportunity to try out all the roles onboard, from steering to trimming the sails!
