Charitable Trust
We are a ‘company limited by guarantee’, not having share capital. We have charitable status and are a ‘not for profit’ organisation. Because of the mix of activities we undertake, a wholly owned trading subsidiary, Edinburgh Leisure Two, has been established for those activities, such as catering, which are not recognised as charitable by the Inland Revenue.
There are fifteen members of the company who also serve as Directors. The members have the ultimate control of the company subject to providing and operating the services in accordance with a funding agreement as agreed with the City of Edinburgh Council, our main funders.
