BAA Youth Games
The BAA Youth Games - the City's biggest annual youth sports extravaganza.
The Edinburgh Youth Games has been going for 11 years and each year it gets bigger and better. This year the special day is THURSDAY 13th MAY- pop it in your diaries now!
We host loads of sports competitions throughout the City - 22 competitions, 11 sports and 5 venues! In 2009 40 Edinburgh Schools took part in the competitions which went on throughout the morning before culminating in a series of medal ceremonies for every participant - all 1600 of them.
The day is all about taking part and having fun and its a great opportunity to give some new sports a try. This year we are introducing 2 new sports to the event these are waterpolo and aquathon and we are welcoming back after a year out volleyball!
Edinburgh Leisure has heralded 2010 as the year of SUPERHUMANS and now the ever popular youth games is joining in the fun- so get your thinking caps on and create your very own superhero outfit and emblem which you can wear on the day.
