Climbing Camps
How do you fancy trying a bit of adventure sport?
Let’s face it, hanging about on street corners isn’t half as much fun as hanging off the walls at the Edinburgh International Climbing Arena. And we've got the perfect way for you to get the most out of your school holidays at the world's largest indoor climbing arena.
Ascenders
The Ascenders is our daily camp where you'll get an introduction to the basic rope work and safety skills you'll need to tackle our climbing walls and bouldering facilities. During your sessiong you'll also have the chance to try out some of our other activities such as abseiling or even climbing the 20m wire ladders- quite a scary prospect!
Adventure Camp
The Adventure Camp is a weekly camp which will develop your climbing skills over the course of the week. The five 2-hour sessions will develop your skills as far as possible throughout the week. The instructors will cover everything from safety skills to movement techniques and teach you all about rope work. You'll also have the opportunity to try climbing our 20m high wire ladders or have a shot of abseiling.
Pebbles
Pebbles sessions are open to kids aged from 5 to 7 years. Each session consists of 1 hour climbing based activity in the arena, supervised by an EICA coach and soft play assistant, followed by 30 minutes of soft play access in Scrambles.
Real Rock
Outdoor climbs in Scotland are pretty spectacular. And with such a rich geology the different types of rock exposed for climbers provide a range of new and rewarding challenges. The Real Rock sessions are a great way to take your climbing further with the assistance of our experienced team. Some climbing experience is preferred for these sessions but isn't essential. Real Rock sessions will take place on 2 April, 9 and 23 July, 6 August and 23 October.
Aerial Assault
Our Aerial Assault Course is the ultimate adrenaline rush, a truly unique experience where you, quite literally, let it all hang out 100ft from the ground. The ride begins with a death-defying twisted zip slide and ends with a series of increasingly formidable obstacles. During the school holidays the Aerial Assault opening times will be extended to 12.00 - 16.00 Monday to Friday, so there are even more opportunities to get your adrenaline rush.
