Edinburgh Leisure offers a tennis coaching programme at Craiglockhart, the Meadows and St Margaret’s Park. Throughout term times coaching is available to children and young people aged from 3 to 17 years. Our tennis coaching programmes give kids a great opportunity to learn and develop their tennis skills, meet new friends and have lots of fun.

Craiglockhart Tennis Centre
As an LTA National Performance Centre at Craiglockhart Tennis Centre we are able to offer children’s coaching programmes from beginner through the developmental stages and onto an advanced training programme that will continue to develop the player’s skills right up to national and international standards.

Children are coached in small groups within their own age group and ability levels. Courses are run on the indoor courts on a school term basis throughout the year.

Term time coaching programme
These week long coaching sessions are suitable for pre-school children right through to young people in S6. All playing standards are welcome as the children will be grouped according to their ability on the first day. We will provide all the equipment and the coaching will be delivered by our fully qualified and experienced coaches.

The Meadows
At the Meadows our tennis coaching programme is those aged 5 – 17 years with courses aimed at 3 different ability levels for each different age group.

Level 1: For children with little experience of tennis and are still developing basic rallying and serving skills.
Level 2: For children who can serve overarm, maintain a rally, and have a basic knowledge of how to score.
Level 3: For players who have played club tennis and participated regularly in tournaments.

St Margaret's Park
Childrens’ coaching sessions at St Margaret’s Park are also for 5 – 17 year olds. The courses are aimed at 2 different ability levels for each different age group.

Level 1: For children with little experience of tennis and are still developing basic rallying and serving skills.
Level 2: For children who can serve overarm, maintain a rally, and have a basic knowledge of how to score.
