Our Venues
St. Margaret's Park
The four tennis courts at St. Margaret’s Park have an acrylic playing surface and are available for public use throughout the summer. Individuals are welcome to pay and play on a casual basis. At times when the courts are open but not staffed, customers are welcome to play free of charge, subject to availability.
Opening times and hours
The courts will be staffed on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday from 12 noon - 9pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 11am - 5pm throughout the playing season. However, the courts will remain open outwith the times that they are staffed and you are welcome to play on the courts at no charge at these times.
Casual pay and play
The courts at both The Meadows and St Margaret’s Park don’t need to be booked in advance, depending on availability anyone can simply turn up to pay and play. However if you wanted to avoid disappointment courts can be booked up to 8 days in advance with a Leisure Card. Non-card holders can book 7 days in advance, with payment taken at the time of booking.

What's on at St Margaret's Park?
Edinburgh Leisure offers a tennis coaching programme at St Margaret’s Park for children and young people aged 5 - 17 years. The term time programmes at St Margaret’s Park are delivered on a weekly basis, and the holiday programmes are delivered on a week long basis. The kids will get a great opportunity to learn and develop their tennis skills, meet new friends and have lots of fun. These courses should be booked in advance at Craiglockhart Tennis Centre.
Childrens coaching sessions
Edinburgh Leisure offers a tennis coaching programme at St.Margaret’s Park for children and young people aged 5 – 17 years. The courses are aimed at 2 different ability levels for each different age group.
Level 1: For children with little experience of tennis and are still developing basic rallying and serving skills.
Level 2: For children who can serve overarm, maintain a rally, and have a basic knowledge of how to score.

St Margaret's Saturday Club
Every Saturday afternoon Edinburgh Leisure runs a junior tennis session at St Margaret’s Park. These sessions are aimed at children P3 – P7, and are used to introduce the kids to tennis and to develop their skills. There is no need to book, simply turn up and join in the fun, click here for further information.

Saturday junior club / under 18’s £2.00
Bad weather arrangements
In the event of bad weather, refunds will only be issued if more than 50% of the course has been cancelled as a result of bad weather. Outdoor classes will normally go ahead except in the severest of weather conditions. If in doubt, please call Craiglockhart Tennis Centre who may be able to offer advice on the day, on 0131 444 1969.
Children and young people drop off and collection arrangements
When booking any of our junior tennis courses, please remember that St Margaret’s Park are open park areas. In the interests of your child’s safety, please let us know who will be picking your child up after their lesson, or whether your child will be making their own way home.
