Classes for Children with Additional Support Needs / Disabilities The water provides a fantastic environment for children with additional needs to experience freedom of movement, buoyancy and stimulation. Teachers provide small ratios from 1:1 to 1:4 dependent upon the level of support required by the child. Individual needs are assessed in consultation with the parent/carer and a progressive schedule is put in place to ensure every child has the opportunity to get the most out of every session. Our teachers are qualified and undertake a range of additional training sessions throughout the year to develop their knowledge and understanding. We encourage parents and carers to build relationships with the teachers and swim co-ordinator to ensure a joint approach to the child’s learning.
To enquire, parents/carers should approach their local venue and chat to the swim co-ordinator about suitability of lessons.
