Marina Services

Cranage
Cranage is available by fixed crane at the outer end of the East Pier, for craft up to 5 tons displacement. Larger vessels can be launched by hired Mobile Crane*. Hydraulic Boat Handling Trolleys can move vessels of up to 12 tons displacement on site. Owners must provide their own road trolley or cradle. If the latter, a trolley is available to effect the transfer to or from the storage area, at additional cost. All craning and handling of boats should be booked in advance at the Marina Office, and payment must be made before work commences. Owners are requested to make all arrangement, timeously, prior to contract expiry date.

*A customer who books a mobile crane must arrange a suitable time with the marina office. All crane lifts must be under supervision of Port Edgar Marina Staff who are all qualified banks men. A maximum weight for mobile crane on pier 30 ton.

Storage of boats (Indoor)
Several sheds equipped with overhead lighting and power supplies are available for storage throughout the year. Only boats with their own trailers or cradles can be stored. Special requirements should be highlighted in advance. No specific position or working space can be guaranteed.

In the interest of safety please advise the Marina Office if you are carrying out any work to your vessel. If the Marina Office is closed please contact the Marina Staff on site.

Storage of boats (Outdoor)
Space is available for all craft. Owners must provide their own cradle or trailer.

Storage of cradle/trailers is free to customers who have taken a berthing contract, however cradles/trailers which are left here without the vessel/craft having a berthing contract will be charged at a monthly rate. Customers are advised to contact the Marina Office for current prices.

Storage of dingies and small boats
Dinghies and other trailer based craft may be kept ashore in Dinghy Parks or in the Dinghy Sheds. Both indoor and outdoor parking is available throughout the year. A flat rate charge applies to Sailing Dinghies or craft under 4.6m L.O.A., which includes the use of the slipway.

All craft must be kept on a trolley to permit easy movement. All craft, on receipt of berthing / parking fee will be issued with a licence. Each licence is only valid for the berthing / parking space stipulated on it. The licence must be clearly displayed on the boat at all times. Management reserve the right to move craft at any time.

Chandlery

Sailing Club
Port Edgar Yacht Club has a full programme, of racing and cruising for both yachts and dinghies from April to December. New sailors may hire dinghies from our Sailing School and join in the popular Monday and Wednesday evening racing. Potential yacht crew will find boat owners looking for crew via the clubs notice board. Full details can be found on their website at www.peyc.org.uk
