We all know that exercise is good for us but for some people it’s an absolute must. For people who have gone through cardiac rehabilitation our programme is designed to take you from rehabilitation to long term good health. Research shows that cardiac rehabilitation which includes exercise training can cut the risk of further heart attack by 29%.

The exercise sessions are about finding something you enjoy to start you on the road to an active healthy life.

  • Improve joint flexibility & muscle strength

Gym session
If you choose to attend the gym based session you will be offered guidance and support of a fully qualified gym instructor. Activities will be tailored to your needs and can include walking on a treadmill or cycling on a bike. All activities will be demonstrated thoroughly so you are comfortable with them.

Fitness Studio session
The fitness studio session is a circuit based format that provides options to exercise at different levels to ensure you work within your comfort zone. This session will be delivered by a fully qualified instructor and will be a continuation of your rehabilitation programme.

Each session lasts for one hour. You can choose to participate from 20 minutes to the full hour depending on your fitness levels. But you must be there at the start of the session to warm up fully.

Monday 14.00 – 15.00 Ainslie Park Leisure Centre Fitness studio
Wednesday 10.00 – 11.00 Leith Victoria Swim Centre Gym
Thursday 12.00 – 13.00 Craiglockhart Sports Centre Fitness studio
Thursday 14.00 – 15.00 Ainslie Park Leisure Centre  Gym
Friday 10.00 – 11.00 Warrender Swim Centre Gym

You can choose whichever centre is the most convenient for yourself. Book in by contacting reception or just turn up on the day.
